Equipment

The majority of our equipment was purchased new with grants.  Being one of the lowest funded Departments in the County means you really have to make every dollar stretch.  Without grants we would not have 3/4 of the equipment we have.    These grants come from foundations, corporations, State Government , and Federal grant programs.  Grant items have been as large as a portion of the cost of two fire trucks  or as small as a pager.   We are proud of what these grants have allowed us to do. Below is a sample of some of our equipment that was grant funded.  This page is also our way of saying thank you to all our past grantors and businesses that has helped out in some way.

Engine Company 1971, 1972, and Squad 1975 are each equipped with Honda EU series generators and tripod 750 w Havis Shields scene lights.  These generators and lights delivery great night time lighting and are more cost effective than a truck mounted light tower.  Another advantage to these lights is that they can be set up at any location as long as the ground is stable.  The Department also has one 5000 watt Honda generator that is mounted in a slide-out tray in engine 1972.  This generator can be used for long-term operations.
