Smoke Detector Program
Fire prevention and safety in the home are major concerns for all community fire departments. The Navassa Volunteer Fire Department has resources available to the public to help keep our homes safe. One of these assets is the Smoke Detector Program. The Fire Department sponsors a free service designed to ensure homes in Navassa are equipped with a working smoke detectors.
This program is available to Navassa residents that own their home, and are not physically or financially capable of installing detectors. Request for detectors will be evaluated on a case by case basis.
The Navassa Fire Department will also check existing smoke detectors to ensure they are working and in a proper location.
A Smoke Detector can SAVE YOUR LIFE!
Fire Facts:
In a fire, seconds really do mean the difference between life and death. A properly located, working smoke detector can give you those valuable seconds to get you and your family outside to safety.
