There are just over 20 members of the Navassa Volunteer Fire Department. They come from different parts of our community and from different walks of life. They are school workers, career firefighters, longshoreman, nurses, police officers, managers and retired individuals..... just to mention a few. They are your neighbors.... men and women just like you who, for one reason or another took the initiative to join up.

There are many reasons to become a volunteer. Some of those reasons will differ between individuals, while others remain constant! For nearly everyone, the number one reason is simply the desire to help others in their greatest moments of need. Membership has its advantages too..... by joining the Navassa Volunteer Fire Department you will become part of an organization that has a great deal of pride in itself and its accomplishments. You will also become part of a unique social club. There is no doubt that as a member, you will meet many new people and make new friends.
