ENGINE/SERVICE  1971

 

Engine 1971 is a 2007 Rosenbauer Spartan pumper. The

Unit has a 1000 gallon tank, a 1250 GPM Waterous pump, and

seating for six.  The unit is powered by a Caterpillar diesel

engine.  Unit 1971 was purchased from C.W. Williams Fire

Equipment and delivered in 2007.  1971 responds first

out to structure fires and alarms.  

 

 

 ENGINE  1972

  Engine/Service 1972 is a 2003 E-One Freightliner. The unit has a 1000 gallon tank, a 1250 GPM Hale pump, and seating for two.  This unit is powered by a Mercedes Benz diesel engine.   Engine 1972 was purchased from C.W. Williams Fire Equipment and delivered June of 2003.  1972 responds first-out to stucture fires and alarms in areas hard to access.  

 

SQUAD 1976



 1976 is a 2009 Ford F-350  crewcab four-wheel drive truck.  This vehicle is a quick response squad serving many first out roles.  1976 was ordered from Capital Ford in March of 2009 on NC State Contract.  1976 was funded by a Foundation Grant, Corporate Donations, and private donations.  The unit is powered by a V-10 gas engine.  1976 carries a small amount of water and medical response equipment.   
 
 

SQUAD 1981

 

1981 is a 2012 Ford F-250  regular cab four-wheel drive truck.  This vehicle is the towing unit for department trailers (1977 and 1990).  1981 was ordered from Capital Ford in July of 2011.  The unit is equipped with amber warning lights and a sliding tray mounted in the bed.  The sliding tray houses all department personal protective foresrty gear. There is also a hard top bed cover installed to protect the forestry gear.  

 

FOAM TRAILER 1992

 

1992 is a 2011 foam trailer.  The vehicle is equipped with two foam totes capable of carrying 250 gallons of foam each.  The unit is capable of foam delivery via a master stream, portable monitor, handline, or Pro Pak.  The unit can flow 500 GPM with the assistance of a pumper. 1992 is towed by unit 1981  Below is the equipment the trailer carries. To maintain consistency, the Department specified all Task Force Tips (TFT) products.

ENGINE  1973

 

 

Engine 1973 is a 2000 KME International 4900 pumper.  The unit has a 1000 gallon tank, a 1250 GPM Hale pump, and seating for four.  The unit is powered by an International diesel engine.  Unit 1973 was purchased from Slagle's Fire Equipment and delivered in 2000. 1973 responds first out to vehicle fires and second-out to all structure fires and alarms.

  

  

 

 

SQUAD 1975 

Squad 1975 is a 2002 Ford F-550 4-wheel drive.  The unit has a fire body built by Aerofire.  The unit has a 300 gallon tank, a 300 GPM Hale Pump, and seating for five. Squad 1975 has a Ford Powerstroke diesel engine.  Squad 1975 was purchased from Capital Ford and delivered in 2002.  1975  carrires the department's vehicle extrication equipment.  1975 responds first-out to all calls not covered as first-out by 1971,1972, or 1973.  

 

WATER RESCUE 1990



Water Rescue 1990 is a 2007 Trophy 1901 Bay Pro 19 foot water craft.  The vessel is powered by a 115 HP outboard Mercury engine.  1990 was donated by U.S. Marine.  The craft will be used by both the Fire and Police Department. 1990 is towed by unit 1981. 1990 is equipped with the following equipment:

  • Basic safety euipment as required by the Coast Guard
  • Kenwood trunked fire radio
  • VHF marine radio
  • LED emergency lighting
  • Depth finder & GPS
  • Remote control search light

 

BRUSH 1977 

 

Brush 1977 is a 2005 Polaris Ranger 6X6.  The Department applied to US Smokeless Tobacco's Operation Ranger Program in 2004 and was awarded a Polaris Ranger UTV in June of 2005.  The vehicle arrived to the Department red in color.  The Department decided to complete the vehicle conversion to firefighting vehicle in-house and save money.  Chief Williams contacted Pro Poly and worked directly with factory engineers on a custom 80 gallon tank and skid.  Darley Fire Equipment worked directly with the Department on choosing the right pump, and the Darley Davey was selected.  The plumbing and valves were purchased at the local Lowes Home Improvement Center. The skid unit was assembled and mounted on the unit.  The fire radio was added in the glove box to protect it from the elements.   In 2011 the Department purchased a larger trailer to tow the unit to calls. 1977 is towed by unit 1981.
